Boat & RV Parking Rule

For those members that have boats parked on the street have you thought about what your going to do July 1st when the law goes into effect?

Trying to figure out an alternate plan without breaking the bank.

Just cut a gate into your back yard, up and over the curb and into the back yard.

RE: Boat & RV Parking Rule

I’m surprised that you guys don’t take this topic a little more seriously. As of July 2009 people will no longer be able to park boat trailer and RV’s on any county streets. This is a real problem and concern for anyone put in the position to have to find storage for their property. It will be very inconvenient and costly.

If you don’t have anything constructive to add to the conversation then STFU!

RE: Boat & RV Parking Rule

I park on the street and am very concerned. I have no clue as of right now what I will do with my boat. This hobby is becoming really expensive.

FISHBOY you are absolutely right. i am very lucky and have a place to keep it in damascus. even though its 20 minutes out of the way it is safe and i dont have to worry about it.

this is a very serious issue for those of us not lucky enough to have garages or parking for our boats.

RE: Boat & RV Parking Rule

The issue is very serious but the whole rule is so preposterous that I don't blame people for trying to turn it into a joke. No other county in the USA would ever pass something so effing ridiculous. If anyone is unable to find somewhere to store their boat before the deadline I recommend that they mail a picture of their middle finger in with the ticket.

RE: Boat & RV Parking Rule

sorry, but several counties in virginia already beat you to that rule. leesylvania state park has a boat storage area for about 45 a month, no electric. several years ago i tried to find a self storage place for my boat and none allowed electric.

I was being constructive and serious, if you don't like my suggestion that's your problem. Sam's house backs up to a street and has a privacy fenced back yard that seems to be large enough for his boat. Had a couple friends that parked their boats in their townhouse backyards for years.

Sorry Charlie

I know you were being serious. In Sam's case his Homeowner Assc. will not allow him to keep the boat trailer in the back yard. I called Sam after I read your post and said "Charlie had a great idea"
