Question  Fishing Suggestions for 2008...

All.

As you know, in December the FOBA Officers and Board will get together to determine the 2008 schedule. If anyone has suggestions on areas we may want to look at to fish this year, let us know... you can post it here, or email it.

2nd for the classic at deep creek.

Maybe check out the upper river above dam 4. There's good water up that way, I know alot of people who wakeboard up there and wakeboard boats sit alot lower in the water than bassboats so it should safe (No more dangerous than Conowingo or Susky). I've never fished there but I hear its pretty good.

I suggest you consider launching the first tournament of the year out of Marshall Hall. The reasons are:
A. Free and twice the parking area.
B. Close to the barge and Fort Washington.
C. Not to far to Smallwood or the spoils .
D. Don’t need to buy a D.C. license.
E. Something new for the club to do.

The only problem I see with a 2 Day Clasic at DCL is the reduced turn out of co-anglers and boaters as witnessed by the past DCL tournament attendence. I am not tring to be critical just looking at the facts from my perception. Gary

I don't think it would be as much of a problem at Deep Creek for the classic. I feel like more people would make the trip for the classic. Gary is right though, something that should be considered.

We've always had the classic on the river, couldn't hurt to try it. Especially since I'll be able to fish the classic this year, for the first time since 2002 (I feel old...)

I agree with Gary. Even though a DCL Classic would be great, the number of anglers and co anglers would not be as strong as say a classic on the Potomac. I for one know I would have no chance in making it to DCL for two days in October..

Would like to suggest the Occoquan Reservoir in the summer, good deep water patterns and good fishing. Only problem is would have to be trolling motor tournament due to 9.9hp restriction on the lake.

Suggestions:

1.Smith Mt. (bed fishing, docks, & smallmouth sound good to me)
2. Northeast or Middle River (alot talk about good fish on the Upper Bay)
3. Nanticoke, Eastern Shore (Checked MBF Disscusion Board, looks like they had good results during a summer TX...)
4. Lake Chesdin VA. (don't no much about this lake. I believe it's near Petersburg Va. 2-3 hours drive time from Germantown)
