Toungue  Anna Point Marina

Fished out of Anna Point Marina yesterday. I don't have anything to say about the fishing except I canceled out a lot of water.

But the facility is quite impressive. Wide open ramp that can fit up to 6 boats at once, plenty of trailer parking that is easily accessable and plenty of room to turn around. No hiking up a big hill and trying to figure out which way to turn to get the trailer down to the ramp. It doesn't look like it gets as clustered as Sturgeons by any means.... Maybe in the fall and next year we can consider launching from there. There were no tournaments going out of their yesterday either and Sturgeons always seems to have 2 or 3 tournaments everytime we fish there.

We used to launch from Anna Point from 2000 to 2003 then we switched to Sturgeons not sure exactly why, but they all get clustered at some time no matter what. The nice thing about Sturgeons is you could leave boats in the water during the weigh-in.

RE: Anna Point Marina

I have alway's fished out of Stugeons. The old fella that owns it helped me out when I trashed my trolling motor on my first bass boat.

Mike-Pappy-Jones turned me and my father on to Sturgeons. I have heard similar stories about the ownership at Sturgeons.

RE: Anna Point Marina

Why I perfer Sturgeons? It for me brings back memorys of logging in pigs there in the haydays of Anna in the 70s,That old guy who wasent so old back over 30 years ago when I first met him, after a long cold rainy day fishin with my old Bud Bill Mathias, with arms aching from ramming Magnum Hellbenders and Bagley DB2s 20' deep banging off the walls of the old Rose.Cemetery trying to wake the dead! Beaten up by the Lake. That guy would always have a bottle under the counter with a generous dose putting the fire back in your belly! That fellow has provided the best services for me when in a pickle over 30 years,I will have to get his name some day,I just call him the cool old dude at sturgeons.God Bless Him cause there was a lot more brutal trips for decades after and I always knew I had a friend waiting for me at the dock,(and under the counter). I just coudnt imagine going elsewhere.Tight Lines cool old dude at Sturgeons you ROCK!!!

Ken… HUH? Can you repeat that

Sam, I hear you. I remember Anna Point used to be the place… Now there doesn’t seem to be anything going on there ever. Now Sturgeons has all the business… I wonder what happened.

RE: Anna Point Marina

From what I hear Anna Point is under new ownership and they want the pleasure boater business for Lake Anna. Don't seem to be catering to the tournament fishermen since I can't find any tournament into on their site.

Eli,

You need to work on your listening skills.
